Kärkölä

The safe and affordable environment of Kärkölä, population 4,000, attracts new residents. Smooth and comfortable everyday life is ensured by the spacious plots and good basic services, such as a maternity and child health clinic, a daycare centre, a healthcare centre, indoor swimming pools, a library, and the new comprehensive school and sports centre. The activities, recreational trails, sports facilities and Huovila Scenic Park make Kärkölä an excellent place for an active lifestyle.

Kärkölä's location by good transport connections, especially near the Järvelä population centre and railway station, makes it an excellent environment for business and living. The municipality has a workplace self-sufficiency rate of over 90% and an unemployment rate of less than 10%.

The largest employer in the municipality is the international wood refining specialist Koskisen Oyj. Over 100 years old, the company just revealed their 12-million-euro investment programme at the end of 2024. Other large companies include the Korvenranta woodworking company, the Eristyspalvelu Kaasalainen insulation services, Hydraulic Power, and the Kylmäkärki farm tank maintenance organisation. Several new circular economy companies have recently relocated to Kärkölä, such as GRK Suomi that specialises in infrastructure construction and circular economy services, and JST Kuljetuspalvelut that specialises in demolition work and refining demolished concrete.
